What are the advantages of using a wooden entrance reducer?
The beekeeper and bees can gain numerous advantages from using an entrance reducer. At its simplest, this tool functions to decrease the size of a large entrance. Various reasons exist for doing so. One of which is that throughout the year, a hive’s population fluctuates naturally resulting in different workforce bees taking on guarding duties. This decline occurs when colony weakness or winter approaches. The hive population may be seen as comprised of two phases, namely six months of growth occurring between December and June followed by half a year of depletion.
